Great, thanks for fast replies! So just to confirm, I can make appointment and just travel to Aberdeen or Edinburgh and they will do NCS for us, no matter that we live far away. Correct? Good luck to your friend! I lived 11 years in this country on different visas, glad that this will be over soon....

On your link there is a list of centres. I wonder, if I live near Inverness, can I go to Edinburgh or Aberdeen and use NCS there? I tried to phone them but they have only answer machines. As you say that your application is easy ... better u send by by post NCS is only a check point where they verify all the documents so that UKBA dont come back with a query .. its not a mandatory service fyi..... .. As far as I remember there is no Mandatory length of time that you should be knowing for professional reference.

On what basis does he become a professional ? U have to check that list of professional's considered as UKBA suggested.

Not everyone who is working in a reputed organization becomes a professional even though they have a title as Project Manager..

Update: 24/04/2014 applicant just got his approval today.( Checkout April timeline) So they are still JUST trickling in. If I am in your situation I would get British citizenship as of now with OCI card for him. You can always get Indian citizenship any other day without much hassle when the kid starts living in India with minimum period of stay..
