Let me know how it goes. Because my family members didn't need their birth certificates so you should be ok. Yes, a family member just applied recently. He already had a Surrender certificate so when he went to the VFS centre with his birth certificate for the OCI, they never took it. They looked at it, but said it wasn't necessary to submit with the other original documents (such as his original marriage...

and they are saying it is must.

for conab(address proof) I have

for my wife 6 doc from 4 different sources (over the period of 2 years)
for myself 6 doc from 6 sources (over the period of 2 years)
Hope that is sufficient?

for English B1 level for my wife.
