Re: EU citizen and permanent residence in Denmark

Thank you for your response. I may very well be misinterpreting the law as it seems a bit confusing. Denmark is not very clear on many of the laws and when you ask the officials they can either be a bit evasive, or you get a different answer each time. My understanding is that as an EU citizen I can...

EU citizen and permanent residence in Denmark

Hello, I have a complicated question that I cannot seem to find the correct answer to, and the authorities have been a bit noncommittal when asked. I was born and raised in the United States. A few years ago I met a Danish woman, married her and moved to Denmark under family reunification. A year af...

Re: Irish Citizenship through descent - FBR questions

Hello, I am a little unclear about which documents are required for FBR. As noted in other boards, after much difficulty it seems Ireland will now recognize my citizenship based upon my father being an Irish citizen born in Ireland. Officially this means I was an Irish citizen from birth if I unders...

Thank you. I just received word that the passport office reviewed my new additional documentation, have deemed it acceptable, and now wish me to submit a new passport application.

Re: Passport application and Birth Certificate 'Not found'

Hello, I noticed you also posted this question in another thread. I know my answer is not directly related to the one you are asking, but it may give you insight as to how the passport office views birth certificates that are not 100% 'orthodox'. Here is my answer from the other thread: I cannot spe...

Re: Passport Application

2) original birth certificate What if someone has no Original BC, instead has only 'Not Found' documents from relevant department from home country. I know dept of justice have no problem accepting 'Not Found' and accept it happily. But, what about passport office, do they accept Not Found or If it...

Re: Passport Application Rejected

Discretion should have been exercised, back in the days when your father was born, it is 100% certain that being born on the Island is automatic citizenship, if your birth cert has his details on it, you may seek judicial review. I have filed a complaint with the Ombudsman. It seems to me I am bein...

Re: Passport Application Rejected

I think you didn't read wot i wrote, As you said you don't know where your father is and you don't have any other proof only birth cert, so the best way is go to Birth/death Register office to know is he alive or not. you ll be able to trace his last address in Ireland to contact with social office...

Re: Passport Application Rejected

The passport office is not questioning my fathers ties to Ireland, they are questioning my ties to him. If the passport office wanted additional documentation then that should be noted as part of the required paperwork. All that is required is a copy of your official birth certificate, you Irish bor...

Re: Passport Application Rejected

My father's birth certificate was issued in Ireland. My mother was American and I was born and raised in the United States. My mother passed away five years ago. As stated, I have no idea where my father is as I have never had contact with him. I do not know if he is still in the United States or re...
