Happily I'collected my approval letter and documents this morning which should have been received on 13 July(missed the postman unfortunately), so cannot help coming here to update the post.

No I didn't use any settlement service Spring, but I've been so grateful to HO for its efficiency. To answer your questions, I'm on spouse visa, the only dependant applying for settlement.
