Re: Proposed change in rule - Tier2 dependent work

Not sure what you are referring to as I extended my ICT a couple of weeks back and did not pay any surcharge. In any case, applying an additional fee is an easy one when compared to asking business to terminate services of T2 dependents (which may well be in tens of thousands) as of a given date(s)....

Re: Proposed change in rule - Tier2 dependent work

Looking at the trend, any changes are generally for migrants given entry clearance on or after the date a particular rule is enforced. Hence, you should not be impacted. In any case, currently, ICT is a temporary visa (not more than 5 years) so a retrospective action may be an overkill.

Paris Relocation - Indian Passport - Guidance Request

Dear All, Is there anyone wit non EU passport (Indian) relocated or staying in Paris? It would be helpful to have some information regarding visa specifics (for main applicant, dependents e.g. can wife work?), taxes (any double taxation treaty with India?) and general settling in details (childcare,...

Re: Apr 14 Change in Rules - Switching from T2 ICT to T2G

Hi Why do you say that no provision of ILR? As you are allowed 6 years stay which makes you eligible for ILR after 5 years stay. Did you see any rules saying as you said or it was mistaken from any post. @Manini, My post was in relation to people who came on Tier 2 ICT visa between 6 Apr 2010 and b...

Re: UK General Visitor Visa for Parents

Hi All, From your experience how much / knowledge, can you please share how much duration should elapse between successive visits of parent(s) to UK on a general visitor visa? The guidance in this link link states it is completely subjective. Accordingly, is there an unwritten rule that total durati...

Re: Apr 14 Change in Rules - Switching from T2 ICT to T2G

@manci - many thanks @t2query - as your query is related to mine, i am able to share the following - your wife would have to apply from home country. She cannot apply from within UK. However, she will not be subject to 12 month cooling off period. You can then switch to T2 Dependant without being su...

Re: Apr 14 Change in Rules - Switching from T2 ICT to T2G

This sudden rule change, which was introduced without adequate warning, hits particularly those whose initial T2 ICT leave was granted under the rules 6 April 2010 - 5 April 2011 (Established Staff) and who had expectation of settlement if they switched to T2G. Those who had T2 ICT leave under the ...

Re: Apr 14 Change in Rules - Switching from T2 ICT to T2G

@manci In case of t2query, would the cooling off period been applicable if he/she was on a T2 Dependant visa? In other words, isT2 Dependant also considered as a T2 Migrant or seen as say 'family member / dependant' of T2 Migrant? As per rule 245HB(g), cooling off period would apply to T2 Migrants s...

Re: Apr 14 Change in Rules - Switching from T2 ICT to T2G

Thanks for sharing. So it no longer makes sense for people with Tier 2 ICT before Apr 2011 to switch jobs. Their stay would be capped with no provision of ILR (which was possible prior to these rules by spending 5 years in Tier 2 General). Also, in such a case, the option for people with Tier 2 ICT ...

Re: Business Schengen Visa

I believe not. You would need to submit the complete itinerary with medical insurance. Hi guys, I am in the UK on a Tier 1 visa. My employer would like me to be able to travel to Europe at short notice if needs be so he has asked that I apply for a business Schengen visa. With the nature of my job I...

Re: Indian passport renewal in-person application

Did you try asking them to return your old existing passport? I have the passport valid until Jan-2014. If i submit passport renewal application now(Jan-2014) in person in the HCI, London, Q1) do they return my current original passport now (OR) retain and send along with my renewed passport later? ...

Re: Indian Passport Renewal

Thanks a lot. This is a very useful post. My passport is running out of pages and I have to apply for a new one. However waiting for 4-6 weeks is tough as I need to travel frequently? Would you know if * Tatkal scheme is available in such cases (not necessarily same day, even a week is fine) OR * HC...
