ILR-3 months away rule

Can the more experienced people on this board tell me what happens if I am away from the UK for more than 3 months in any given year or for more than 6 months in the 4 year period. Why I am asking this is because I have secured a job in London which requires me to travel extensively across the UK,Eu...

July applicant approved

Hi Everyone, I saw the update on the hsmp web page and I was shocked(oldest applications nov 1).I called up the hsmp office and the agent told me a decision had been taken and the papers were already dispatched.I asked him if he could tell me what the decision was and he said it was approved. I want...

Hi HSMPTopper I called the hsmp team yesterday(22/3/05) and I'm an 18 July applicant (ref num: 022***).The agent told me that my application is one of the applications that is in the pipeline to be assigned case workers.I asked how much time will it take from now and he said about a week or so.:) Bu...

I agree.A certain amount of action is required from our part.It is totally unfair to all the applicants. I think the last foreign minister had to resign because his nanny's visa application was fast-tracked(her number came up much before it was supposed to).I am sure if some enterprising journalist ...

Thanks for the advice lightpace. I'm just dissed(excuse my language) about the fact that suppose my application runs into complications(realistic),or is rejected(downright pessimisn).I would have to go through the whole hassle all over again.I would have to try to get in touch with HO desperately,wa...

There is no update on the website again.I think this June 16 will be a date which will "stick" at least as late as the 10 June date.

AxA, Breaking the team into two groups does not still answer why the group handling the June-Oct applicants is not at all progressing with the date. By the way, doesn't this go against the very British way of frowning upon someone breaking a queue :-) I have got a reply to my query which is more of a...

This is the reply I have got.It seems quite similar(almost automated) to the ones the others received.Anybody else received anything different? --------------------------------------- Thank you for your e-mail dated 22nd February, 2005. In an attempt to reduce with the ever increasing backlog, new p...

I have also made the complaint.Lets hope I dont get an automated response.I think this whole matter is being handled with absolutely no sensitivity. They need to realise that a lot of people's lives and livelihoods are at stake. Copying my letter below.I will paste the reply as soon as I get one. ---...

Well.We do need to admire the person's motives. He has definitely made me think.I think the PM would be unwise to generalise the level of English as spoken by the majority of applicants from one person's email. Instead of/In addition to writing to the Prime Minister do you think it would make more se...

Hi Gunjans, The HO is a goverment agency and there HAS to be a feedback mechanism(other than individual phone calls and emails).I will do some research on it myself and let the board know as well Alternatively,I was thinking if someone on the board who has applied and has gone through a lawyer or if...

Thanks for your replies,f2k and chess. Chess,if what you say is correct, then October applicants should also have received some decisions by now. I would say this is a rather unfair way of resolving things. They are penalising people who have sent in their applications early. Is there some sort of a c...

What address to send job offer to?

Hey folks, The senior folks on the forum can help me out on this. Can you tell me what is the procedure if one gets a job offer? I am interested in knowing the following: 1)What address to send the offer letter to?Do we do it by fax, courier or both? 2)How is the receipt acknowledged?Do we need to cal...

This is just the oddest. Is there a way of getting in touch with the person(s) responsible for HSMP processing times and telling them of our difficulties and frustrations. I am quite surprised that they dont even have a feedback page on which we can send them feedback about the procedure. Frankly,wri...

Sorry to hear about your rejection Zahid. I think the best way to move forward would be to try an unpaid appeal first.I think you should clearly tell HO that the positions you held all required a graduate degree to begin with. Can you present/explain your case by phone or does it all have to be via ...

I've sent my additional documents to the P.O.Box 3468 Sheffield Address on the 29th of November. My phone calls/emails have not been fruitful in eliciting a confirmation from them.

On top of all of this the websites refusal to be updated :-) is another source of constant joy.

Talk about bad systems

I do wish they would get their system in order.I have sent in my additional documents( in november) and I have called the hsmp team umpteen times but to no avail(I get a busy tone every time!!!).I have mailed them thrice asking to confirm whether they have got the mail but no replies. How difficult ...
