Hi, First of all, if HR are in the process of registering with UKBA now to become sponsors, it won't take six months. the maximum it will take for them to become a sponsor is 16 weeks (it says so on the website) and it will usually take a lot shorter. I'm in a very similar position where my visa exp...

Applying without a CoS if it's taking too long?

Hi I'm currently on a PSW visa, switching to Tier 2 General. My current visa expires on 25 Oct 2013. My employer is currently still in the process of applying for a sponsors license. They submitted the application a couple of weeks ago and now waiting on a response. From everything I've read, it loo...

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. I'd imagine that as long as you are earning the correct salary on the date you make your application it shouldn't cause any problems. Could you possibly let me know how long it took/is taking for your employers to obtaint the sponsorship license and issue the cert...

Hi all I'm currently on a Tier 1 PSW visa, hoping to switch to Tier 2 General. My current visa expires 25th October 2013. My employers have agreed to sponsor me and will start the process next week. Could someone please give me an indication as to how long it will take them to register as a sponsor,...

Hi, Earlier there was an exemption for those who switch from PSW to TIER 2 from showing maintenance. However, this no longer exists. If I were you, I would try to pursue the TIER 2 VISA. Just check whether your company can verify the maintenance for you. This is a very simple process for them, beca...

Does holding a diplomatic passport affect my chances?

I hold both a regular (Egyptian) passport and a Diplomatic passport. I'm hesitant as to which to use to apply for my Tier 2 visa. Does it make any difference at all, or is one more likely/less likely to get accepted? For example, is a diplomatic passport more likely to get accepted because of it's p...

Tier 2 or unmarried partner's visa?

I desperately need advice! I’m currently in the UK on a Tier 1 Post Study Work Permit, which expires in October, and so I’m looking at my options. I’m in full time employment and have an English partner and we’ve been together for almost three years. I spoke to a number of immigration advisors, who ...
