Yes.. the child would fall outside the grace period if I were you I would get the British PP and then travel.. considering you might look for getting OCI later which would become trouble some for the child if the Indian authorities find out that he has travelled after becoming British. There is no time limit, you can choose not to apply British passport at all if your circumstances doesnt warrant to.

The questions would be generic in nature about you and your family, nothing that you wont know about... the whole purpose of that interview is take a final check if the person who is applying for passport is indeed the same person who has applied in the past and not a fake one..

Agreed, to make matters simple if you are on ILR giving birth in UK is straight forward and less trouble as the child would be british by birth.... unless you dont want British citizenship at all for the child...

Birth certificate is a must to register anyone as British, I wont gamble without have those at the first place. I have never heard of IHC issuing Birthcertificate for people born in India though I may be wrong. All they can do is issue passports and do misc activities as mentioned on their website. ...

I would say dont lie in your application and be truthful, tell that it is UK based organisation and because of business reasons had to travel outside UK. Provide the UK registration address of the company.

I would also say convert yourself to OCI from PIO if you are elligible. With that you wont have to get bothered renewing your PIOs every 15 years.

You shouldnt apply before sorting this out this is clear cut tax evasion unless you want to loose your fees. Not sure why Indian companies do this .. but do wait for gurus to reply.. who has more experience about these evasive companies..
