When people refer to the NCS being a speedy service, I don't think they are referring to how long it takes the participating council to post the application to Liverpool, but how long it takes from applying at the council to when you actually receive the approval. Based on what members indicate in t...

Biggest problem of that is what proof will you have that you entered the country using the marriage visa, currently the immigration computer systems will have you entering on a visitors visa. If you were to subsequently apply for ILR there would be no proof in your passport that you entered on a par...

LOL! Just saw the report on news 24! They were randomly asking cabies what they thought about the test and asking them a question, one said don't let them in (!), one said its absolutely pointless having a test, and the other said it was a good idea. Of the 3 one got a really easy question wrong! (l...

Hi Roger, congrats on passing! What choices do you have on the answers, for example was it just straight A B C or D (select only the correct answer) or were there some questions where the answer could be A B and C (select all the right answers) and were there true/false answers too? Edit:- oh my, yo...

When you say surrender your passport what do you mean? Surrender it to British officials or the officials of the country that issued it? The British Govt allows for dual citizenship so they are not fussed, however depending on the country that issued the passport, they may require you to surrender i...

If im not mistaken, its actually a standard question they ask thats laid out in there procedures manuals, you can actually view that on the homeoffice website. Its like when a work permit holder re-enters the country they always ask 'has your circumstances changed?' and thats it! Don't worry about it.

Do you need to include trips to the Channel Islands? The reason I ask is for tax purposes they are considered outside of the UK, and in fact when you return you have to go through customs (not the blue Euro line) However there is no passport control whatsoever, in fact you dont even need to carry yo...

Absolutely and thats probably why the issuing of work permits now falls under the IND (or is it the Home Office) In fact you'll probably find that eventually there wont be a distinction between the work permit and residence stamp. Sorry have to disagree your work permit is NOT your residency permit. A work permit gives you permission to work for a specific employer for a specific period of time. Your residence permit will be stamped in your passport and is issued seperately from your work permit.
