I know how much of a pain the wait is, just a point, you credit history should have no bearing on the application, also your kids passports being expired for a couple of months should not cause any problems. My passport had expired in Dec 2005 and I had not renewed by the time I applied last month, ...

Yeha just got the naturalisation approval letter in the Brown Envelope! I have updated my time line above but basically it's taken just under 4 weeks. Tomorrow would be exactly 4 weeks from when to the NCS in Leicestershire! This forum has been a great help, and I would like to thank everyone who ha...

What has birth cert got to do with a WP? I would like to know myself because a bcert isnt needed unless you are going for the "heavy weight" visa's. I need to ask my boss this question. I think it might be so that they can check my background, and make sure I havnt blown anything up or co...

Jeff I think the work permit thing goes back to when the NHS trusts were insisting on Doctors/Medical people having WPs even thuough they already had valid right to work in the UK. There were a bunch of posts in here regarding this a little while ago.

If your ILR was granted based on 10yrs residence (or 4/5 for WP holders) can you still apply for naturalisation based on marriage?

Please do not post multiple entries. You've posted 3 same entries at different times.

If someone knows the answer to your question, they'll reply in due process.

Thanks.
Actually its 5 times, there are 2 on the previous page!

Coming from the same part of the world, this has always been a worry for me, that is why I guard my passport with my life. I get very nervous when it has to be posted around, eg for drivers licence, visa applications, etc.

I think that my one is perfectly filled as it has been done by the solicitor with 25 years experience and I attached every possible document I had, so I think that it would be quite unfair for it to be left unopen for several months only becouse it did not arrive throuh NCS. Unless you have a parti...

To be perfectly honest I think you will come up against strong resistance from the immigration officer. You say you'll be arriving with one day to go before your WHM visa expires, I think that will be grounds enough for refusal to enter the UK. Additionally I would seriously not recommend you overst...

I think you will find that you will have minimal questioning when you go through the UK Passport holders line at the airport. You will have no restrictions, an you'll be able to do whatever you want. oops slightly misread the post! Did not realise they are proposing seperate requirements for Scotland, sounds a bit silly as what is stopping someone from moving after they get settlement. I'm sure they could easily do some checks, but its just adds complications to the whole process.

The granting of residency after 2 years is only a suggestion, and only for the equivalent of HSMP in the new system. Also is proposed to be only for 'high flyers' according to the command document.

This is deliberate discrimination as these soldiers are in the army sitting out there four years and then applying for ILR just like the WP HSMP's and AV's were doing. Do you have proof of this? And what sort of numbers are we talking about here? I doubt they are just 'sitting out' I'm sure they co...
