Re: MN1 (registration) application processing timelines (onl

I am getting conflicting information from different sources, hence the query here. Myself and my wife are due for ILR at the end of October and we have booked a PEO appointment for both of us. I am planning to get an Indian passport for my UK born 4 month old child, as we are planning to travel to I...

Re: What visa for UK born child?

Hi Vinny, Here is the link that says I can apply for FLR (O) for my child. You’re a child You were born in the UK You’ll get the same permission to stay as your parents if you’re a child who was born in the UK. You can either: apply with your parent as a ‘dependant’ (family member) apply separately ...

Re: What visa for UK born child?

It seems that my child cannot apply for ILR along with us, as the parents are yet to have ILR. What makes you think that? If you are successful, then the child will succeed. So, you mean to say, although my UK born child does not have a visa at the moment, she can apply for SET (O) along with us (p...

Re: What visa for UK born child?

Looking through the UKBA website, it appears that its best to apply for FLR (O) for my child rather than apply for ILR at the same time.

It seems that my child cannot apply for ILR along with us, as the parents are yet to have ILR.

Maybe [quote="vinny" or someone can confirm? Thanks

Re: What visa for UK born child?

As both your wife and you are applying for ILR, I believe that the child would also be eligible for ILR. So, I would suggest including the child in the ILR application. IHS is not payable for ILR applications. Thank you. I will get Indian passport for my daughter and then try to add her to our exis...

Re: What visa for UK born child?

Advice remains the same as it was in August when you asked. http://www.immigrationboards.com/immigration-for-family-members/child-born-in-uk-visit-visa-or-dependent-visa-t193714.html#p1237554 I understand that you are trying to help but can you be a little bit clear? You mentioned "You could a...

What visa for UK born child?

Myself and my wife are due for ILR at the end of October and we have booked a PEO appointment for both of us. I am planning to get an Indian passport for my child, who is born in UK in June of this year, as we are planning to travel to India in December This is because we will not have time to apply...

Re: Visa for UK born baby with settled parents

ILE=ILR applied outside the UK. So, based on vinny 's advice, I would say that it is better for the parents to apply for same-day ILR before they leave. I believe that is £2000. Thanks for your info. Since you mentioned ILE = ILR applied outside of UK, which visa my child has to apply if applying f...

Re: Visa for UK born baby with settled parents

Hi Vinny,

The link you provided seems ambiguous.

In OP's case (similar to mine), what is the best option?

Go to India on Indian Passport and apply for visit visa or apply for ILE? If ILE, is it provided at the airport or is there any particular visa?

Thanks

Also, if you are going via the family of settled person visa route, the fee is 956GBP if applying from India and it is £649 if from uk. https://www.gov.uk/remain-in-uk-family

I am in the same boat and have been looking on this website wherein some members (child born in UK) have gone to India on indian passport but returned back on visit visa, and then moved over to MN1 & Citizenship.

Re: Child born in UK - Visit visa or Dependent visa

Thank you for the advice. I will apply for the MN1 after returning from India. Meanwhile, is it better to apply for PBS dependent visa based on my current Tier 1 visa from UK (applying in India is £944 per person compared to £2,136 per person while applying in UK) or apply for dependent visa (family...

Child born in UK - Visit visa or Dependent visa

Hi, My child is born in June 2015 in UK. ILR for myself and my wife is due this November. We are planning to apply for MN1 and then British passport for the child after we get the ILR. Looking at the current processing timelines, it takes around 4 months to get MN1 registration approval. Since we ar...

Also, if she is going through the NARIC route, does she need to get anything other than the NARIC compatibility route? Also do anyone have a template for degree taught in English?

Thanks so much

Re: New IELTS exam for settlement of spouse

Yes, I have seen that.

Since my wife is not based in UK, the only option now is to take the IELTS Life Skills exam in India, provided by IELTS SELT Consortium.

Is that correct?

Thanks

Hi kkhhyyaattii10 Just now saw your post. The answers are: 1. While going, used Indian passport, from here in Heathrow as well as in India. Never took British passport out. 2. While coming back used Indian passport at Indian immigration. After reaching Heathrow, kept my indian passport in my bag, an...

Re: Travelling on Indian Passport

Thank you ban.s

Will follow your suggestions.

Re Dubai visa, I did get it at the last minute, after intervention by Emirates Ticketing Manager in London and did not have any problems at Dubai or in India.

Will update you how it goes when I reach London.

Thanks.

As India doesn’t recognise dual citizenship it’s better not to act as a dual citizen especially dealing with third parties i.e. Dubai immigration. I would apply for Dubai visa on Indian passport instead of using British passport. In my view there “might” be a problem leaving Dubai with the UK passp...

You mean to say I have to cancel my dubai stopover and then travel to India on my Indian passport and then return to UK on my British one?

#1 sounds like the most straight forward option to me. I recently did something similar and had no issues with surrendering the Indian passport later on. Thanks. I am planning for a stop over at Dubai as well. So I will just use the Indian passport (get the Dubai visa) from UK to Dubai and then Dub...
