Re: Child born in UK - ILR (parents do not have ILR)

If you are applying for your ILR on 10 Years long residence basis, you can't include any dependants. In this case, you'll have to apply on FLR(M) and include any dependants you want. (your wife & kids). You'll do this at the same time you apply on SET(LR). So your dependants don't become illegal...

Re: Home office withdrew day before.... Help?

Home office withdrew their case because they did not find enough grounds to go for trial in the court. If they have mentioned that they'll issue visa, then job done. But if they say that they will review the case again, then they can take some time in this situation...
Hope for the best...

Re: English Language Requirement ID - help please

did he provide his passport number to the test centre? If he did, then you'll be fine as they took the photo at the test centre and the photo matches the passport photo, so should be ok. If they did not take his passport number, then I can't say anything. But he may be ok as they took his photo at t...

Re: Can I/WE go on the council waiting property list?

I think going on council property waiting list and claiming housing benefits are 2 different things. If you get a council house, you still have to pay the rent and council tax anyway, its the housing benefit which you don't want to go for as yet until your wife's ILR is sorted. Hope this will help y...

Re: Infertility treatment under NHS for Tier 2

You are not ordinarily UK resident, and they'll charge you for this service. These days NHS is getting very strict upon charging people for their services for non-immigrants. One of my friend had a baby and he has been living in UK for 3-4 years, but the time of birth his visa application was due in...

Re: claiming benifit help needed from AMBER

I would recommend you not to apply for housing benefit as yet, wait for your wife's FLR(M), go for SET(M) at PEO, get it sorted in 1 day...bingo....then you are free to do it....
But please do update us, when your wife's FLR(M) is approved. Thanks

BTW, it took less then 4 weeks... You can backdate up to only a certain time. Read the form for this information. and insert date of your ILR approval if possible...you'll start getting CB from this date onwards....

Thanks guys... Actually, I forgot to mention addresses for last 2 years on page 15 and did not submit the cohabitation documents with the application as I was under this impression that this is only needed for SET(M). Also I had to apply before 6th April and couldn't wait for UK NARIC degree compari...

Re: FLR(M) acknowledgement dated on 4th April .Am I safe?

Your date of application is the date when you post the application and not the date they receive it. As an example I went for PEO appointment on the day my visa was expiring but case worker didnt accept my application for some reason and I asked him that I would overstay, but he said that if you pos...

UK NARIC Degree Outcomes

I am starting this thread only for UK NARIC outcomes of either degree compatibility report or English assessments. I think this will help a lot of people to make up their minds what they can expect if they go ahead with NARIC. People can also submit their timelines so others will know how long is it...

The term 'reasonable excuse' The term ‘reasonable excuse’ is not defined in law. What amounts to a reasonable excuse will vary from case to case, and there can be no hard and fast rules setting out the types of excuses that are, or are not, reasonable. It is a matter for the officer’s discretion. Be...

Yes, by all means. This 15 hours free nursery is available for all children regardless of their immigration status. Well T1 Visa is a resident visa which means you are ordinarily UK resident. So don't worry and you'll be fine. My son started nursery from Jan 2014 when my ILR application was pending....

keep trying with option 2 or 3 as soon as you get connected, you don't have to listen to everything what computer says, you'll eventually get through. Apart from that its normal to get biometric letter in a month time. so i don't see any problem there unless its taking way too long...

Re: Do Not Assess your English Level from UK NARIC

I've been in touch with the NARIC and according to my understanding, we need comparability report (if the degree is equal to british bachelors etc), then you get the english assessment from NARIC, this will be sufficient as your degree will be equal to Bachelors and saying the medium of teaching was...
