Re: Irish citizenship application from Northern Ireland

I hope your invitation letter comes through soon! I don't know that they process in order of receipt. They might be given out to different caseworkers who work through their lot at their own pace! Fingers crossed! We got the birth certificate from the Beijing People's Hospital. My partner was born i...

Irish citizenship application from Northern Ireland

Hi all My civil partner is going to be ready to apply for Irish citizenship later this year and I've been looking at the form. I have a few questions! 1) Are the passport photos to be added to the application just the same as the Irish passport photos? My own passport pics are black and white. Is th...

Re: Irish national applying for permanent residence

I'm just wondering if an Irish citizen who entreated the UK in 2014 is still able to benefit from being viewed as settled in the UK on arrival? Are there any differences between someone who entered in 2000 and 2014? I arrived in the UK from China (not from ROI: I think this might affect the way one ...

Re: Translated documents for passport application - query

Email the Citizenship Dept and ask them: citizenshipinfo@justice.ie. They might be able to guide you especially since you're in Northern Ireland.

Hope you get it sorted. Don't forget to share your findings on here!

Good luck.

Re: Citizenship applications from Northern Ireland

Hello all, joining the thread as we have just applied for my husband's citizenship by naturalisation from Northern Ireland. One question - can he gets his passport back before they decide or do they keep it for the duration of the process? I asked the Citizenship Unit this question and they said: &...

Re: Married to the son of an Irish citizen

The CSSO would disagree with you as would I but I do thank you for your input. They would be VERY wrong. If this was still possible, I'd be using that route for my civil partner. Re: Married to the son of an Irish citizen

And with no obvious connection to Ireland you would appear to have no claim on Irish citizenship let alone the privilege of an Irish passport. This is incorrect and misleading. As the wife of a person holding an Irish passport there is both an obvious connection and a justified claim to the passpor...

Re: Irish person settled in UK - Need to apply for ILR?

Unfortunately, it is the question of Home Office accepting the application without Residency Certificate as Home Office helpline also advised me to apply for Residency despite providing all the info as per this thread. I am not sending a request under FOI to get the clarity as I am concerned of loo...

We've just got our approval from applying as an Northern Ireland Spouse. - We did provide a DAT1 and were advised to do so when we called the INIS helpline. - Again as advised, we just did N/A for the residency permission calculator. As we had to provide full signed photocopy of the passport it con...

Re: PR but didn't initially register for WRS

Just curious. Can you use the most recent 5 year period to apply for PR? I think that the WRS ended in April 2011, would you be able to use April 2011 to April 2016 (or even slightly later)?

Re: Irish citizenship application: Northern Ireland: Family

Hi, I can't comment really on the EEA permit as my husband is a British Citizen so we couldn't go down that route and had to get a UK Visa. However my understanding is as long as your married for 3 years and have been living on the Island of Ireland for 3 years you are fine. As long as you can prov...

I have decided to renounce my British citizenship (dual irish national) in order to apply for an EEA family permit so that I can move to UK with my partner. As we are living outside the EU is it acceptable for the counter signature to be non EU? It doesn't specify on the RN form although it does ha...

Depending on what type of application it is, you should be able to get a solicitor to do it (for a fee). Call some of your local solicitors to see how much they would charge.
