Missing P60+Evidence of lawful residence during the 5 years

Hi All, I am an EU citizen who would like to claim Treaty Rights as a worker for a certain period. I have a HO Registration Card but no Permanent Residence Card. I have a contract of employment to prove a start of employment and P45 for the end of employment. I also have P60 for all but one year (on...

Evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions:

Hi all, Please have a look at the attched file of Section 4&5 page 17 (supporting documents) of form AN. I am an EEA national who will be applying for naturalisation without a Permanent Residence card on the basis of claiming Treaty Rights. Just to confirm: am I reading section 5 correctly that ...

Sending graduation/degree certificate vs Registry letter:

Hi All, I would like to use a period of claiming Treaty Rights as a student. In Section 2 page 17 (supporting documents) of form AN (exact wording attached to this message as a file) the request for evidence document of being a student is written in a way that could be interpreted as if it has to be...

Official name of the Eurotunnel border crossing:

Hi All, I have first arrived to the UK through the tunnel ;) (Eurotunnel). Does anyone know the official name (or the place) of the Eurotunnel border crossing or can I just put down "Eurotunnel"? Point 2.1 of form AN requires that: Date and place of first arrival in the United Kingdom Big ...

Re: photogph -"technical" question

Hi Miangee,

Thanks for a rapid response!

I understand then that the marking it with name and date of birth at the back is only in case it detaches itself and lands somewhere random.

photogph -"technical" question

Hi all, Section 5 of AN form (referees) requires the photo of an applicant to sign and put the date of birth on the back of the photo and then glue it or staple it to the form. I don't understand whether it is supposed to be glued permanently (so the referees section can not be corrupted by changing...

Re: Not putting middle name on naturalisation application:

Good advice. I think that's the way to do it.

Definitely no messing around at the naturalisation stage then!

I think that the passport office would be much more keen to just add the middle name if they are not keen to remove it. Unless someone had some difficult experience with that?

Re: Not putting middle name on naturalisation application:

He he, I did not think that removing an unused middle name will be difficult. I'm wondering why at the bottom of this page they say that you don't need to send any additional documents to remove the name: https://www.gov.uk/changing-passport-information/minor-name-changes Am I correct that passport ...

Re: Not putting middle name on naturalisation application:

Thanks for sharing this experience CR001. Looks like the case is solved: 1) apply for naturalisation certificate with name as it appears on foreign document. 2) after naturalising apply for a British passport stating that you don't want your middle name to be put into it. Had anyone got an adverse e...

Re: Not putting middle name on naturalisation application:

Hi navodwickra, Given what fwd079 stated i.e. that form AN gives you the choice (name does not have to be exactly as in a foreign passport) I am leaning towards "shaking the middle name off" at that stage unless someone can tell me that it's not a good idea or that it can't be done. In the...

Re: Not putting middle name on naturalisation application:

Thanks fwd079, The link you have pasted states that adding a middle name requires supporting documentation but removing it (at the point of application) just requires an explanation. I am still considering removing it from naturalisation application as the argument of syncing only applies to synchro...

Re: Not putting middle name on naturalisation application:

Good point fwd079,

I will not be presenting naturalisation certificate around too much. However, I will be presenting the passport a lot.

Can I omit my middle name when applying for a passport (or would it require me to put the middle name exactly as it appears on the naturalisation certificate)?

Not putting middle name on naturalisation application:

Re: Difficulty of Life in the UK test:

Can the questions be concentrated on one, difficult section of the book? -say history? Or they come up more or less proportionally?

Re: Difficulty of Life in the UK test:

Thanks for your replies.

Any comment on this bit: Do questions come proportionally to the 5 sections of the book (more or less x questions from each section) or is it an open pool allowing many questions to be from one section just by random chance?

Difficulty of Life in the UK test:

Hi all, Could anyone tell me whether the questions of Life in the UK test are made do catch you out (or deliberately difficult) e.g. what was the population of the UK in say 1970 or questions about some really obscure, dates or dates of birth or names? Also, do questions come proportionally to the 5...
