Re: Referee issues

Hi milan69, I meant the first, professional referee being only a colleague in case my Scottish mate backs off. I'm just scanning my Facebook friend list for ppl that might be suitable and there are not many. But I understand from what you've written that it doesn't matter for either. I swear that I'...

Re: Referee issues

Big thanks milan69,

And what about the last issue: can a referee (the first or second one) be a colleague from the same workplace which I know in a more professional capacity only or is this not a problem as well?

Referee issues

Hi all, I have a couple of questions regarding referees. It is quite difficult to have a referee of "professional standing" but I have a Uni friend who became a contractor so he is self-employed and a managing director of a limited company. However, we have met 7 years ago and lived in the...

Re: Is Comprehensive Sickness Insurance requirement retrospe

Actually, when digging my documents prepared for citizenship app I have found a Home Office registration certificate from Jan 2007! However, I don't know whether I have applied as a student or a worker as I was both at the same time back then. Does it change my CSI situation in any way or am I down ...

Re: Naturalisation and Electoral Register:

Ah, ok. It looks like I will need to go through a bit of hassle to align it properly for disclosure. Thanks for sharing your experience. I thought that they don't bother checking Electoral Register as most applicants are from countries where they are not eligibile to appear on it or even if they do ...

Re: Is Comprehensive Sickness Insurance requirement retrospe

Unfortunately, I will have nothing to evidence that I was looking for a job, particularly I was not registered as a jobseeker.

Studying took place at UK univesrity and it was not a vocational but an MSc degree course.

Re: EU passport validity/expiry for naturalisation applicati

Thanks Jumbo,

It's quite reassuring that I would not have to make my way to the embassy just because my current passport has couple of months left on it.

Re: Is Comprehensive Sickness Insurance requirement retrospe

Thanks guys, @Jumbo: Don't you think that the gap is actually too large? As I don't have anything to confirm that I as a job seeker. Also, so you saying that I could be asked for a proof of CSI for 3 months I was only claiming Treaty Rights by being a student? Especially given the fact that now I cl...

Re: EU passport validity/expiry for naturalisation applicati

So if I come to NCS with a passport with say 3 months left on it then would it be accepted? In other words: is there a validity left requirement/practice (whether NCS or not)?

Employment and address supporting documents:

Hi all, Quick question regarding documents supporting naturalisation application: For continuity of employment would a contract, each years' P60s and the most recent payslips be enough to show that I've been continually employed somewhere for 4 years? Some P60, payslips will be printouts of online d...

Is Comprehensive Sickness Insurance requirement retrospectiv

Hi all, I have a 3 months gap in my employment in 2010 where continuity of my Treaty Rights claim is only supported by being a student. I will be looking to make naturalisation app around now when I'm again an employee. I know that from June 2011 UKBA requires proof of comprehensive medical insuranc...

Re: Life in the UK test shelf life and changes since 2011:

You are actually right. I just went on ebay and found pdf's for a pound (!).

For some reason I didn't even think of the "secondary" market on ebay.

EU passport validity/expiry for naturalisation applications:

Hi all,

Am I correct in assuming that when I send my current EU passport with my naturalisation application it needs to be valid for at least another 6 months from the date of posting it to UKBA?

Thanks for your reply.

Re: Life in the UK test shelf life and changes since 2011:

Big thanks for a reply regarding no shelf-life of the test. This means that I can essentially sit it now (and on the current fees) as I've got time and apply for naturalisation once my period of 5 years residence is completed in a couple of years. As for 2011 materials: does anyone know whether thes...

Re: Naturalisation application fee increases and refunds:

Big thanks for this table. It is very useful, it essentially shows that Naturalisation app fee goes up by £20-30 every new tax year. Regarding fee refund: you have quoted the cases when application was not necessary. It would be bizarre if a to a degree fraudulent application would get a partial ref...

Life in the UK test shelf life and changes since 2011:

Hi all, A couple of questions regarding Life in the UK test: 1) If I sit and pass Life in the UK test (a certain version of it) and then the question bank/areas of knowledge covered by the test are later changed when I come to apply for naturalisation does it mean I would have to sit a new test or i...

Re: Naturalisation and Electoral Register:

I had to move off my own home due to issues in the marriage but still have my mortgage on it.

In any case, the point is whether Electoral Register entry is checked during Naturalisation enquiries and if yes whether it matters for EU citizens?

Naturalisation application fee increases and refunds:

Hi all, Two quick questions: 1) Can anyone recall say the last 3-4 naturalisation fee increases along with their approximate dates (say months and years)? Also, just to clarify the fee is a fee for application consideration and not "naturalisation granting fee"? The fee is not refunded if ...
