Similar situation which has caused us lot of problems.. Better close the company, and do contract through umbrella company. Closing the company is also big/lengthy process which would take sometime, so start immediately. You should not be a director of a company when you enter UK as a tier 2 general...

I've applied for tier 2 general 45 days back, and still in online it shows 'Your application has been forwarded'. It depends on the location, now in Chennai it is 13 working days. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/2013/september/chennai-processing-sep16 But beware it is normal processing time, they may take more time than that also. And you'll have to take TB test and produce the report...

AFAIK, you've to refer to the rules which are in place while visa is granted (not when you came to UK)..

So please check the rules which are in place when your visa is granted.

I don't have a sample letter.

But if you're ready to write an exam, then Pearson test is the fastest one which you can write and get result on the next day (though they say it may take up to 5 days).. Obviously you'll have to spend money & time!
