Re: Dual nationality NI(uk)/Irish and non-eea (usa): Success

hello, Things are going well at the new job, we're living in Brighton. Got the passports back, still waiting on the RC card though. I feel like it should show up any day, as some others have reported on the EEA2 timeline that they've received their RCs and had submitted an application about a week b...

Re: non-EEA spouse on EEA family permit and NHS

Agreed, getting registered at the GP was relatively easy. I registered in my wife's hometown (village) in NI. The national insurance number was also relatively easy. I got both of these without a CoA, but I did have a valid Family Permit at the time. Getting a bank account at HSBC has proved to be d...

Re: COA for EEA2

I think the ECS takes maybe 5 days, it shouldn't be any more than 7. But I'd say it will come back with a positive result if you've received the CoA.

Congrats BTW.

Re: COA for EEA2

Call the number listed above, the EEA nationals enquiries line, give them your details, and ask them to confirm that the CoA has been issued with a right to work. if it has been issued with right to work, call your employers HR and ask them to submit an ECS (employment checking service) form to the ...

Re: Documents for applying EEA2 under Surinder Singh route

Mrs.mdeben - that is correct - mainly because a family permit had already been issued. and I would imagine the home office scans or otherwise copies all documents sent with a previous application. but of course we all know what assuming leads to.. hopefully it will all be alright. I'll let you know ...

Re: Documents for applying EEA2 under Surinder Singh route

I recently applied for EEA2 under Surinder Singh and was happy to see the box in Section 5 that I could check if I entered the UK with a Valid EEA Family Permit. I didn't write a cover letter for this application as it seems like a rather simple case, and the fact that a EEA FP has already been issu...

Re: Dual nationality NI(uk)/Irish and non-eea (usa): Success

Update: Received a letter from the Home Office today in the post dated 01/07/2014. It states that the Form EEA2 has been received and will be passed to a casework unit to await consideration. This is not the Certificate of Application letter, which of course, is meant to be issued immediately. I wou...

Re: Dual nationality NI(uk)/Irish and non-eea (usa): Success

Update - We arrived in Northern Ireland on May 29th via Dublin. I showed the Garda my EEA Family Permit. (they also stamped my passport as well allowing me to stay in the Republic of Ireland for 90 days, with the ability to register at GNIB (as my wife is Irish)) Since we arrived I have registered a...

Re: Dual citizenship: British/Italian for EEA FP. Advice ple

The Singh route should be a viable option for you if you are living/working in another EEA member state and your non-eea family member is living/working there with you in that member state. Of course there is the recent addition that your life must center in that member state before your return to t...

Re: Italian & Brit passport, can we use Italian P for EEAFP?

My wife is dual UK/Irish citizen, I am a US citizen. - We both lived and worked in Dublin for over a year. I was given a EEA FP based on having lived/worked in Dublin. We openly informed the HO of my wife being dual UK/Irish. I imagine they would grant you a FP as well. Please update to let us know.

Mine also has a number "0" listed, but its inbetween Number of Dependants and Dependant Name. Maybe they put the "0" on your FP up a little too high and it's next to Obsrv.?

Re: GNIB stamp in passport - what is it?

What does the stamp say specifically? That doesn't make sense to me that the GNIB agent told you that if you are caught in the UK that you would be deported. I've flown to Ireland from USA and landed in Dublin, traveled to Belfast and flew from Belfast to Liverpool. Also, I currently have a EEA FP i...

Re: Can a Northern Ireland resident apply for EEA Family Vis

I called the home office once and they were confused about whether not Belfast is a part of the UK.... "Belfast...? Where's that?" Also, I (US citizen) have been issued a EEA Family Permit. My wife is a dual UK/Irish national. We lived and worked together in Dublin and so were able to avai...

My confusion lies in the fact that (as I understand it) you and your wife are not strictly "returning" to the UK, but rather going there as Irish (and spouse of Irish). So in that case I'm just wondering how important that "working in Ireland" information was. This is of great i...

Well, typically we would take Bus Eireann, but as we will have 2 cats, and multiple bags, ie "all our worldly possessions", we will be picked up in style in a Land Rover Defender, which will hopefully have all the cow shit cleaned out it! So, no bus tickets to be had this time around, only...
