Bring child to UK - not qualified as dependant

Hello, My husband is on ILR I am a UK citizen, we want to bring my 17 year old (turns 18 next February) step-daughter from Kenya to live and carry on her studies in the UK. We have been advised that it would be difficult to bring her as a dependant child as she lives with her mum, and although my hu...

Re: ILR Refused due to English Language requirement

Typo mistake - it was the B1 that he got. The caseworker told him that he had no right of appeal and there was nothing further that could be done for ILR. This was the only reason for refusal.

ILR Refused due to English Language requirement

I am writing this post on behalf of my friend who is on the 5 year spouse route. Unfortunately his application was refused as the English language certificate was only at A2 level. This was an unfortunate oversight on his part as he did not realise a higher level was required for ILR. He quickly acq...

Re: pls advice me on NARIC statement of comparability.

Hi, if you are applying for a spouse visa then the English language assessment is sufficient as this confirms that the degree was taught in English and meets the CEFR level C1.

Re: Additional Evidence or New Evidence?

Yes, this is what I was referring to that I have read on the UKBA website, but people seem to interpret this in different ways and I am still not sure.

If any one can offer additional advice, it would be appreciated.

Additional Evidence or New Evidence?

Hi All, Would really appreciate some urgent feedback. My husband was refused due to not meeting the English Language requirement. In his application he included his original Bachelor’s degree from Ghana obtained in May 2012 and his transcripts. Did not realise we need a statement from UK Naric to al...

ILR Child Access

A friend of mine is applying for ILR under the child access route and was just wondering if anyone can give some general advice just to make sure the application is complete. Just want to confirm he will still come under "Other Purposes" on the SET O Form. He was granted 1 year FLR (child ...

Really?? Do you mind if I ask what those reasons were? I'm including my most recent payslips and bankstatements for the period since he applied in June and am also including the calling cards I have purchased to show we are keeping in touch. I really don't know what else to include that was not in t...

We will hopefully submit a new application next week with the Naric statement and most recent bank statements and payslips to bridge the gap betwe...

Yes, but we were told (rightly or wrongly) that we needed the English language assessment because the statement of comparability is only assessing the comparative level of the qualiication and not whether it was taught in English - for this there is no fast track option.

Yes, i did read the attached but it doesn't really say what happens to the original appeal if the new application is refused on different grounds - not that i have any reason to think it should be, but nothing would surprise me!

We have the UK NARIC statement now and will enclose this and the results from the UKBA Calculator. I am sending my husband my recent bank statements and payslips as he applied in June. At this time he also included a letter from my employer with my terms and conditions, nothing has changed but would...

Spouse Visa Refused from Ghana

Hello, My husband's spouse visa has been refused saying that he has not proven that he has met the English Language requirement. He has a bachelors degree taught in Ghana and we submitted his original certificate. They have refused on the basis that he did not submit a statement from UK Naric indica...
