Yes and No :-) One could have parents visiting (and this might again be hard to digest for some and pretty much plausible for others) to lend some support in events like child birth or some accident etc. Anyway, All I wa...

Long term visit visa

Hi All, Just wondering if someone on a long term visit visa (say 5 years) is allowed to stay more than 6 months (e.g. 4 + 4 in two visits) in a calendar year? I've asked this question to VFS and Home Office people and got conflicting answers. VFS UK : Yes Home Office : No Can somebody with first han...

Well, i guess its a matter of personal choice.
I had applied for canadian PR as well when I applied for HSMP. Now I think, if I don't get the ILR and British citizenship for that matter, I'm gonna go back to my home country India.

cheers,

Indefinite leave to remain

Hi All, If one moves to the UK (HSMP visa) a couple of months after the date of EC, does it in anyway hamper the chances of ILR? I presume after 1 year, the extension for 3 further years is granted. Now if one stays for 4 years in the UK he/she can apply for ILR, but in this case, its 4yrs minus a c...

Hi , It seems we are in the same boat. In VAF1 form: Section 5 - About your stay in the UK 5.2 On what date do you intend to arrive? will this serve the purpose for post dated EC? Experts please comment anyway one can always mention it in the covering letter and hope for the best :-) Cheers, Hector

job search after HSMP

Hi all, Was wondering if its a good idea to apply fo jobs (IT/telecom .. if it matters) with recruitment agencies just after HSMP approval. I guess the chances of getting a good offer before one actually lands in Uk are minimal. Employers look for ppl already present in the UK. Having said that, jus...

EC

Hi all,
Is there any guideline regarding the amount of funds one needs to show for EC? Is 8000 GBP sufficient if I and my wife go for EC together (Delhi Office)?

Secondly, Can I show amount invested in property as funds available?

Hello, I submitted my HSMP application ( under 28 ) in early March. Here's the timeline: 8 March 2005 - Application received by HSMP Team 16 March 2005 - Date on appr...
