Re: Referre copy of passport

You don't need a photocopy of referee's passport.

They just need to fill in the relevant fields and sign the form.

Re: Travel whilst applying for British Passport?

Depends how long you be away for.

From the day you become british citizen (ceremony day) you have 3 months grace period where you can still use your indian passport.

Also to get back into the UK you will need to show your citizenship certificate at the airport.

That should be fine.

Just write clearly the number of total days out of the country.

Re: English requirements

GCSE grade 5 is your best bet.

There are plenty of colleges around who do these exams at least 4 times a month.

Good luck.

You do not need to wait for your visa to finish.

You can apply anytime after completing your 5 years.

Re: January 2014 - Naturalization Application Timeline

I agree and get your point 27pence. i was just letting frustration out really, i know there is nothing more we do expect wait. I did call the HO this morning, same response "your application is incomplete", but it means it's being dealt with; so hopefully the brown envelope will arrive soon.

Re: January 2014 - Naturalization Application Timeline

i am a 13th Jan applicant and still waiting for approval.

I can see people who applied after me are getting approvals already, it's rather frustrating to know the way HO deal with applications, my case is absolutely straightforward, i am not from a high risk country either.

Yes that should be enough to satisfy the caseworker.

Nationality application gets processed at the Liverpool office, hence, the letter was from HO Liverpool.

Best wishes.

Re: January 2014 - Naturalization Application Timeline

Agents don't always give you up to date information, checking the dec timeline: someone called them on monday and they said in process. The same person received an approval letter on Tuesday which was dated 5 days ago. So just hope for the best your letter might already be on Royal Mail lorry travel...

Re: Citizenship Referees

1. Charted Accountant would be good. Make sure they write profession as an Accountant.

2. For the second referee make sure they are at least 25 years old.

Re: Referee Residence!

1. If they want to clarify anything they will contact the referee, small spelling mistake won't cause any problems.
2. No so long he is British Citizen and indeed know the child, shouldn't be problem.

Re: Referees

1. Working for the same company does not mean they are related. So it should be fine.

2. Yes (Manager/Director is fine)

3. estate agent (Accepted profession) or estate agency owner (Can sign as a director of the agency) would be fine.
