Re: Child born in the UK whose parents were diplomats

So even though his parents had residence as diplomats in the UK at the time of his birth, he still does not have right to claim British citizenship on basis of being born in the UK while child's parents had status in the UK?

Student visa - ILR

My apologies if this has been covered already but I was unable to find the answer I am looking for. I am inquiring on behalf of my friend whose daughter is 17 years old and she has been studying in the UK for over 4 years now and next year she will be finishing her A levels. She is a Russian citizen...

Re: Naturalization application with 763 absences in last 8 y

The worst case scenario is that you will lose the fee, nothing else. You can apply as many times as you can. One of the most important things to prove when applying for discretion are your ties with UK. Having a business and paying tax does help but I believe HO is looking for proof that you have ma...

Re: Proof of residence in UK for citizenship

It is not mandatory and NCS is being extra cautious, too cautious in my opinion.
If you have tenancy agreement, bills, bank statements, that all goes into proving your residency and presence in UK.

Re: ILR to naturalisation (separated from partner)

You need a copy of your spouses passport if applying on basis of being married to BC.

If you have been resident for 5 years and hold ILR for one year you can apply, your marital status is irrelevant.

If you apply via NCS it should take no more than 2 days for HO to receive the application.

Re: PR holder married British citizen

There is no rule on how long should you be married to BC before applying for naturalisation as long as the marriage is valid.
If you have been UK resident for the last 5 years and hold PR you can also apply based on 5 years residency.
You can do it both ways.

Re: can I travel on the day my application is received by HO

It is a tricky one.
I would think you can travel and there is also a possibility HO received your application on Friday( I submitted my through NCS and it was received by HO the next day).

I am sorry, my mistake. Your wife has to send a copy of your British passport along with her original passport.

Re: Date of arrival + one of absences off by 1-2 days:

You should be fine with the approximate date of arrival.
You do not need to give evidence for any flight you just have to be as precise as possible with the dates you left and return and it should match stamps in your passport.

Re: Absent from the UK for Naturalization

As far as absences are concerned you are fine.
In the last year you had almost 10 days out of 90 allowed. In the last 3 years you are allowed 270 days of absences.

You don't need to provide evidence when applying, your passport should be enough.
If HO requires further evidence they will ask for it.

It is not a problem since there is ILR in the passport.
