Work Permit After ILR?

Is the work permit visa stamp and the work permit document still valid after one receives ILR? My friend has still got his work permit visa stamp in his passport and his employer doesn't know that he doesn't require work permit renewal anymore. Is there a formal process that the employer has to foll...

Application for BC for kids has to fall under one of the categories mentioned on the IND website. For example, I applied under SECTION A where the children are born in the UK. I applied for the their BC since they were born here and we were later granted ILR. In your case, I think you have to wait f...

Joseph- you were spot on! IND base children's nationality applications under section A category ONLY on mum/dad's ILR and the UK birth certificate. Nothing else matters really! The date they used was from the UK birth certificate. Thanks for the advice you all. The registration came back 2 days ago....

i recommend applying for ILR for all of you. Surely if they refused to give ILR for your children then thats fine. They should not refuse your ILR on grounds that the UK born children have no status. So go ahead with the ILR application including all dependents. At the very least, you would get the ...

Nationality Acknowledgement Letter

I am applying for British Registration for my children for the first time and don't know much about it except whats in the MN1 Guide. I have posted the docs but read something about an acknowledgement letter for nationality applications. Does anyone know whether applicants always receive an acknowld...

This is certainly the date the home office stamped your passport on with the visa. Not the date on the work permit letter.

Jo, We have got an official reply from IND: When submitting your child's application please provide the original birth certificate. Providing we are satisfied that the error was an oversight, we will issue the registration certificate showing the correct date of birth. So I think its safe. I will ju...

I got an official email reply from the nationality enquiries service and it seems they will issue B.R but only if they are convinced the its an oversight. So I will just include a small letter saying how in some counties, the details in the passport are still hand written and thats made some idiot's...

Yes Jo thats what I meant. We had children while on work permit and now we have ILR. I am thinking about using the nationality checking service but it seems quite unnecessary since children's application under SECTION A is very straight forward. But some of my friends have used it and insist that it...

Mother's ILR For Child's BC Application

Can I use my own passport with ILR for applying for my children's british registration? The father can also send his but the problem is that he is on duty travel most of the time and so we decided to use mine. Is that OK? Reading SECTION A of the rules, it says that any parent with ILR can send pass...

We were not issued any ILR letter(s). We only have visa stamped. On enquiring about it, they said that they don't issue it anymore! Not sure what you mean by "Why was this an issue for the British Consulate if her UK birth cert was proof of relationship and why was such not annotated on ppt or ...

That maybe so Jeff but don't they actually have to check the non-EU passport in the country and then give the boarding card? Surely they would require the person to have the UK visa in the first place before getting on a plan and returning to UK as ILR holder. True they would have the records in the...

That is a dreadful scenario. Specially when you are stranded in another country!

I recommend the same thing, take photocopies. Better still, put scanned ones on the internet!

Yes I am getting convinced that UK birth Cert. and ILR is the only thing thats required. I guess I will have to just send the BC application, enclose a letter explaining the issue and hope they don't send it back saying "please get it fixed"!! I would be surprized since it wouldn't make an...

We don't even have a separate passport since the child was just endorsed on mum's. I will have to ge...

Hi, I didn't notice this when my daughter's ILR was issued but only realized it when I got home! Her date of birth is incorrect by a few days and the HO seem to have made a mistake. She was born here and is only 2 years old. I was planning to apply for her british nationality but am now not sure whe...
