Re: How long in advance can I get a reference for naturalisa

Can anybody please advise? One referee has given me reference 8 months in advance, but I can probably ask him to rewrite his reference before i apply. The other reference I can about 2.5 months in advance. How recent do they have to be?

You obviously need to answer the form honestly. As regards whether you need to be employed, no it is not necessary. How should I answer 3.3 and 3.4 if i'm unemployed? 3.3 "Currently unemployed"? 3.4 "N/A"? I haven't found any requirements regarding current employment status eith...

Using representative's address in application

If I apply for citizenship with the help of a representative (immigration lawyer), can I do without a permanent address in the UK? Can all correspondence be sent to the representative's address?

Re: Referees

I don't know and have the same question.

My (vague) understanding is that if you live and apply for citizenship in the UK,your referees must be uk residents as well. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks a lot, but it's still unclear. Here is the quote from that topic: The intention to live in the UK on a permanent basis is quite important as British Citizenship is only granted to applicants who intend to live in the UK. However, after being naturalized, it is not legally possible to maintain...

What do they mean by "application is successfully completed"? At what point is it completed? Is it when the confirmation letter arrives or after the naturalisation ceremony?

Applying for UK citizenship and moving abroad - process

I am considering moving abroad after I apply for British citizenship. My intention is to come back to the UK eventually, but I need to go abroad for a few years for family reasons. The sooner I can move the better. What is the earliest time I can move out starting from the date when I apply? My curr...

How long in advance can I get a reference for naturalisation

I have about 9 months left before I can apply for naturalisation. One of my referees can give me a reference now, but may not be able to do it later. I've been changing jobs and moving around so it's not that easy for me to find referees who have known me for 3 years. If i get that referee to sign m...

Re: Delay in ILR application - HSMP JR

if you haven't spent 4 years of continuous residence in the UK, then you would not qualify yet. Sorry, i didn't make myself clear. I didn't find answers to the following questions: If i wait until 4 years of residency, but then wait a few more months before I apply for ILR, will i be granted ILR gi...

Are you affected by the HSMP Forum Ltd judicial review judgment of 6 April 2009 (settlement in the United Kingdom)? Thanks for the link. I know that i am affected by the JR, but I haven't found answers to my questions on the web site. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier1/hsmp/hsmp...

Delay in ILR application - HSMP JR

I have an HSMP visa and qualify to apply for ILR after 4 years of residence according to HSMP Judicial Review (4-5 years). My current HSMP residence permit expires after 5 years of residence in the UK. Can I apply for ILR during my 5th year of residence? If so, will I be able to apply for citizenshi...

Terroris acts in London and their impact on HSMP

I was terribly shocked by what happened in London today. Over 30 people dead. I wonder how the terrorist acts will impact the HSMP programme and immigration policy in general. Here's what I think: Short-term effect. There might be an insignificant increase of HSMP application processing time, but I ...

I undertand that my persistence will probably not make them do it faster. I am just not sure they will send any kind of notification by email, so it's easier to call them from time to time.

Did they notify you by email?

Can frequent calls to HSMP team cause any trouble?

My case was assigned for an urgent treatment about a week ago. Since that time I've been calling the HSMP team every other day, because i really need to know the decision as soon as possible. Their answers have been consistent so far: it takes up to 2-3 weeks to process a case urgently. I intend to ...

The letter looks very convincing. Good luck with your review man. A few takeaways from your post relevant to all of us. 1. There are hundreds of caseworkers. 2. They have software that lets any of them pull out the status of any case. They also seem to log all application status requests made over t...
