jes2jes, Thanks for your reply. You can make an application under the LRC and if you can prove that you had any connections to the UK during those period and fulfill all the other conditions during the period of the gap, your case might be considered but it is very likely the application would be re...

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain or Right of Abode for newborn

Thanks. So this means that if either parents get ILR AFTER the child is born, the child has up to 18 years to register as a british citizen? Sorry. I just wanted to confirm this. Cos I had an argument (well more like difference in opinion) with a friend last night who was of the opinion that the pa...

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain or Right of Abode for newborn

Can application for British Citizenship be made at any time so long as there is proof that the baby is born in the UK and proof that at some point either parent got ILR? Any time up to age 18. However bear in mind that where child is aged 10 or over, any issues with the child's character (teenage p...

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain or Right of Abode for newborn

I suppose I would be in the same situation as you when my wife gets her ILR. I presume, that once any one parent gets ILR, the baby (if born in the UK) would automatically be a British Citizen. Slightly different, in that I think that in your case the child would be entitled to be registered as a B...

Can you explain how the gap came about and what was your status then? Did you lodge an application during this period of the gap i.e. a pending LTR application or your visa expired? Your answer concerning your above circumstance would determine whether you are eligible under the 10 year rule or not...

You can try, but it's a lot of money down the drain if you're unsuccessful. Why don't you search the BIA site and read the ILR criteria thoroughly including the sections on case worker's discretion? The bods at the home office don't have anything more than those guidelines so if after reading them ...

All, Whoa! this is getting very complicated! I am a dependant of my wife who holds a Permit Free Training Visa. She is a doctor. Because she is on the PFTV, as I learnt from a previous post, she would not be eligible to apply for ILR using the 4 year rule. Would me holding a dependant visa of someon...

Kayamali / John, Thanks for that. I have got a week gap between my Visitor's visa and the TWES visa. Does that mean that my counter reseted to zero? The reason why I had to switch to a visitor's visa was because I had a job interview, which I was offered and then resulted in gaining the TWES. Would ...

Permit Free Training Visa to ILR

Hello!

Can people under the Permit Free Training Visa (Doctors, etc) be allowed to apply for ILR after 4 years in continued employment?

If not, what are the chances of applying to the HSMP scheme?

Sorry, the changes in the immigration laws are doing my head in!

Thanks!

TWES to dependant Visa

Dear Sirs, Perhaps you can help. I am on the TWES (expires May 2006) and my fiance and I are getting married at the end of this year. We are getting married at our home country and my understanding is that I would have to make an application to switch my visa status from a TWES holder to a dependant...

azwinar,

Thanks for your advise. It could be as simple as showing all the documents at the British Counsulate in Malaysia for me to change my visa status to a dependant vise. Then again it could be more complicated than that........

Anyone out there with any other views?

azwinar, thanks again.

Hello,

Any views on this?

I am getting rather worried about this now. My company is going to advertise for this position and I want to know my chances in terms of obtaining a full work permit.

Many thanks in advance.
