public funds and spouse visa, confuse here !

Post by gogo » Wed Jul 11, 2007 11:14 pm

hi ppl
Its me again , just got quick question .
Can i still be a sponsor while i am claiming benifits like working tax credit and child tax credit and working only 30 hours a week.
Basically i am thinking eco might reject his visa on basis that i am claiming benifits or shall i stop taking the benifits at all before visa applying.
Any suggestion or answer will be apprecialted
thanks.

"...For the purposes of these Rules, a person is not to be regard as having (or potentially having) recourse to public funds merely because he is (or will be) reliant in whole or in part on public funds provided to his sponsor, unless, as a result of his presence in the United Kingdom, the sponsor is (or would be) entitled to increased or additional public funds..."
