Travel whilst applying for British Passport?

Hi,
Can I travel on my Indian passport once I have my naturalisation certificate but have not got my passport yet? I need to travel to India urgently but till I get my documents (British Passport - 6 weeks, Indian Passport surrender, OCI, etc) it will be a good 3 months or so.

Does this impact/affect anything in any way? Is it legal?

Depends how long you be away for.

From the day you become british citizen (ceremony day) you have 3 months grace period where you can still use your indian passport.

Also to get back into the UK you will need to show your citizenship certificate at the airport.
