Does discretionary leave counts towards 10 year???

Dear friends

I just need 7 months for my 10 years and then I want to apply for long residence Visa.

Please help me and guide me.

If I apply Discretionary Leave now and try to extend my 7 months and home office in case issue me discretionary leave, then Will I be able to apply ILR once i finish my 10 years after 7 months are completed ?

Someone told me that once I get discretionary leave I am not eligible for 10 years ILR and makes my 10 years invalid.

Im not expert but in my opinion
it does count towards ur legal stay as long as you make in time application more over if u dont exhaust ur apeal rights
