H1B visa application from outside country of origin

Hi All,

I am an indian citizen and currently in UK on HSMP visa. I have applied for H1B visa for US and I have got the approval as well. My question is do i need to go to my home country (India) or I can appear in US embassy in london ? I have heard that if i appear from london embassy that will reduce my chances to clear the interview . is it true ?

Also I am married and i need to process my wife's H4 visa as well. Do i need to apply at the same time while i go for interview ?

well, I think this is not true, its entirely ur luck.
But people also say that it is good that if someone is applying for H1 from UK as there will be less competition from UK.
I know many got H1s from UK and few got rejected and few were asked to go back to India and apply from there(not rejected though).
