ILR SET(O)Success@Croydon PEO 13-MAR-14, Tier 1 ( General )

Post by scs3rsb » Sat Mar 15, 2014 9:40 am

Hi all,

A big thank you to everyone contributing to this invaluable platform. I just want to share our experience:

I applied with my wife as my dependent under 5 year Tier 1 General. We have a UK born daughter that has not been included in our application. We intend to get her registered as British Citizen soon. The process went smoothly and was straightforward. We got there at 10:30am for our 11am appointment and were out of the doors by 12:30am. The consideration time was around 30 minutes!

I have organised my documents into the following folders:

Application form SET (O)
ID photos (x4)

ID Documents
- Passports ( current and previous )
- BRP ( x2 )
- Police Registration Certificates ( x2)

Previous earnings
- Payslips
- Bank statements

Employer letters and absences
- Absence related letters from current and previous employer
- Covering letter including absences schedule

Please note that one of my previous employers went into liquidation, so no letter from them. I mentioned this in my covering letter.

Education / UK experience
- My UK degree certificate
- My wife’s Grade 5 GESE English exam certificate
- Life in the UK test certificate ( x2 )

Economically active
- 5 year P60s/P45s

Cohabitation documents
- Marriage certificate
- Daughter’s birth certificate
- Various letters over the last 2 years (council tax, home office correspondence, bills, bank statements..)

Maintenance Fund
- Bank statements

Child benefits exception due to applicant’s nationality
- Home Office Public Funds guidance document

I have also supplied copies of all the above, including copies of all pages of our Passports, current and previous, supplied in a separate folder but in the same order.

Tips:

Keep it well organised.
Use PDF Viewer to edit the form.
Highlight the salary entry in the bank statements.

We are now waiting for our BRP cards.

Good luck to everyone going through the process.

Congratulations and thanks for listing documents submitted.
You mentioned about Maintainence Fund, is this a requirement for ILR?

Thanks Sahib. Unlike Tier 1, I don't believe there is a requirement to maintain any specific amount as maintenance fund for ILR. I just included it as an additional evidence.
