Tier 2 Dependent to Tier2 General Switch from outside UK

Hi Manci, all,

I am currently on Tier2 General (Dependent) but would like to switch to Tier2 General without changing my employer. Does my employer need to do a Market Labour Test ?

Also, is this a fairly straightforward process? how to go about it ?

your employer would need to do a RLMT (unless an exemption applies) and, if successful, assign a restricted CoS to you. Then you will have to return to your home country and apply for entry clearance from there.

The process is straightforward but you have to meet all the relevant requirements.

Can the 5 Years towards the ILR be a combination of 2.5 Years of Tier2 General + 2.5 Years of Tier 2 General DEPENDENT ? or it has to be the Main Applicant only ?

no, a PBS dependant is not a PBS skilled worker

or it has to be the Main Applicant only ?
