INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN.

Post by haidarbaker » Mon Mar 24, 2014 9:25 am

Hi Guys,

My wife granted Spouse visa of British Citizen in Oct. 2012- Exp Jan 2015, However and when she made the application abroad she paid the home office fee £870.

Can someone please answer at least some of my questions:

1- When is she due to apply for ILR?
2- When is she due to apply for naturalisation?
3- What fee should she be paying again and when?

This forum has always been a big help through my process to naturalisation.

Thanks

1. Oct 2017

2. Oct 2017

3. Another £800/900 (fees will go up) Jan 2015, about £1000 for ILR Oct 2017 and another £1000 or so at same time if naturalisation wanted.

Those are rough costs as the fees go up constantly and may be be double in 4/5 years time....

Apply for an extension on FLR(M) before the visa expires and spouse will need to meet the standard and financial requirements.

Yes, it is 5 years before a spouse of British citizen can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain and then British citizenship for themselves.

The rules changed in July 2012 from 2 years qualify period to 5 years qualifying period.
