Tier 2 Gen - Dependent Child!

Post by Rizahidam77 » Mon Mar 24, 2014 5:24 pm

Dear Members,

I am on Tier 2 Gen. visa and living with my dependent partner in UK. We have got our visa extended in January 2014 for 1 year in order to complete total 5 years period on Tier 2 Gen. We had a baby born in UK on 03 September 2013, we wish to add baby into our extension application but couldn't do so because baby's Passport ID was not made due to his serious and prolonged illnes from Nov-January 2014. Now its been about 7 months baby is without visa.

My Question is, can we keep the baby without visa, if yes then how long we can? Or we should apply for his dependent visa ASAP explaining Home Office the reason for his delayed application.

Your kind advise would be much appreciated plz!

Kind Regards
R Solungi

Children born in the UK to pbs parents don't need a visa to be here.
- you can apply for child as dependant for ease of travel if you wish. No need to explain anything to ukba.
- you can wait until ilr and apply together with child
- none of the above but register child as British citizen when you both obtain ilr.
The choice is purely yours.
either of the above makes sense depending on your own circumstances.
