Translation of documents for ILR application

Post by i_worker » Mon May 09, 2005 1:23 pm

Hi,

I am going to apply for ILR as I am completing 4 years on Work Permit.
My wife and daughter are applying as dependants.
The SET(O) form requires that all supporting documents must be in English.
I have a translation of our marriage ceritificate and daughter birth certificate
made by my home country's embassy in London.
Is it appropriate for Home Office?
Or should I look for a kind of "Home Office certified translator"?
Does it matter if the translation was done 3 years ago?

Thanks in advance.

Those translations should be fine. No need to worry. The fact that they were done three years ago is of no consequence.

Seems like you have been out of news for a while ---- the qualifying period for ILR (for workpermit holders) is now 5 years, not 4.
