HELP FILLING GENERAL VISITOR FORM

Post by rknshree26 » Sun Mar 16, 2014 1:09 pm

Hi Experts,

I am sponsoring my mother-in-law for to visit us for 4 months, as my wife is expected to deliver in June.
I am confused by the following questions in the form under Income and Expenditure section :

How much do you spend each month in GBP(£) on living costs?
Putting £100 here ( assuming this is her India's cost of living)

How much of your total monthly income in GBP(£) is given to family members and other dependents?
0

What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)?
* not sure what to put in here, i am sponsoring her completely, should I put 0 ?

The total amount of money you have for this trip
* not sure what to put in here, i am sponsoring her completely, should I put 0 ?

The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets
£600 - assuming for a return ticket to/from India

The cost of your accommodation
0 - she will be living with us - sending council tax bill as proof.

The cost of your living expenses
* not sure what to put in here, i am sponsoring her completely, should I put 0 ?

What is the total cost of your trip, including money others may be giving you, in GBP(£)
£3000 - for 5 monhts -* not sure what to put in here, i am sponsoring her completely,

Anyone please help ?

Hello.

I am also struck in the same situvation and came here to find any solutions. In the previous application forms there were columns to write that we sponsor fully.... It seems that they are only worried about the money we have and the money spend in UK.
Please update BC timeline in google docs https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... li=1#gid=0

I am another user just like you.....!!

Well I searched a lot and see what people have used, its not very consistenet , this is what I have eventually used:
How much do you spend each month in GBP(£) on living costs?
100 GBP - Assuming the equivalent in INR is spent on living expenses in India

How much of your total monthly income in GBP(£) is given to family members and other dependents?
0

What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)?
NA - I have put NA. ( explain in cover letter - total sponsored by Me)

The total amount of money you have for this trip
NA - I have put NA. ( explain in cover letter - total sponsored by Me)

The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets
NA -I have put NA. ( explain in cover letter - total sponsored by Me)

The cost of your accommodation
NA -I have put NA. ( explain in cover letter - total sponsored by Me and accommodation provided by me in UK.)

The cost of your living expenses

NA -I have put NA. ( explain in cover letter - total sponsored by Me)

What is the total cost of your trip, including money others may be giving you, in GBP(£)
£3000 - for 5 months - ( explain in cover letter - total sponsored by Me - Maximum expected cost including all expenses)

I am going to write a Cover letter explaining this with evidences from me for full financial support.

Hi,

My mother in law has an appointment next week for the visa,
as mentioned in my earlier post , i put NA for things which were confusing or irrelevant as I am the sponsor. I have tried to mention everything in the cover letter.

The VFS guys in India are no better than email boxes, all i got was pointers to FAQs and guides, it seems like they dont understand my email and questions at all.

I hope that My mother in law will get the visa !

very true.

@ginger.garlic
if the applicant is employed then their income needs to be mentioned in the income section. the expenditure could be some ballpark amount - say 40/50/60% of the income. rest of the fields can be marked as not applicable if the applicants are sponsored. explain in the sponsorship letter and/or in the additional information section of the form.

Thanks everyone.

If possible I am also waiting for reply of below mention link.
http://www.immigrationboards.com/immigr ... l#p1012136

Sorry for duplicating again here

We are on ILR and inviting my brother with his wife and three kids to spend their summer vacation with us.

1) I understand for my brother and his wife I can apply family visitor. Which type of visa for the kids? As niece and nephew not mentioned in family visitor but if I select general visitor online and select close relative live in UK then it won't allow. If I don't select close relative in UK then that will be false statement.
2) What documents do I need to show for children? all three go to school.
3) As in my brother family he is the sole earner so when filing my sis-in-law form do I need to mention dependent children in her application what I mean is this about financial dependency or overall?

Thanks to all of you in advance.
