Indian Passport Renewal at HCI London - Applied in Person

Hi , Have anyone applied for Passport renewal in person at HCI London in January and received it?

Its been 5 Weeks that I applied and still waiting. My Visa renewal is coming up and I am bit worried.

Please respond if anyone have applied in January 2014 and received ?

Hi, I have applied for Indian Passport renewal & new passport for Baby on 31-Jan-2014.... but still waiting for passport .....

I applied passport on 23-01-2014. No news about my passport. They are saying it is still in progress not sure what that means.

They did not specify any dates. I am worried now about my passport. I have travel plans this month which cannot be avoided.

as per Ban.s post above it might take longer. Not sure why this has not been communicated to people who applied.

Application form clearly ask for email when filling.

Hi All,
How to contact HCI London? I applied passport renewal on 23-01-2014 but no news.
In website it has been mentioned please contact with email. Basically when we contact email they are saying they do not know when my passport will be ready. They mentioned passport booklets coming from India getting delay.
Surely if that is the case it should happen for all passport renewal applied right? Is anyone got extended with less than a month?
When I ring them through number which provided in the website, it keeps ringing for 1 hour and then hang up not sure why it simply hang up. I tried almost 7 hours like that. Is there any special way to ring them?
Basically my worry I need to travel in next two weeks.

I applied in person on 17th of jan and i am still awaiting. they keep telling me passport will come from india.

I visited HCI Yesterday and they mentioned passport will come by post only.I requested them that if postal get delay for some reason then my travel will be cancelled.I showed my flight tickets and urgency as well and then they said they will look for my passport and then finally they agreed to hand it over to me instead of postal.

Did they give any clue or idea when will you get passport?
I applied it on Jan 10th 2014, still receiving the email saying my application is on process.

So, I am plan to visit HCL soon,but not sure whether that's gonna help or not..

Its more than 10 weeks now, as I m bit worried to apply my extension in UK.

I applied it on Jan 10th 2014 through postal service, still waiting for it.
I don't know when its delivered, as my renewal coming very soon. I am bit worried too..

Unfortunately we have to request in an email or in person.

If you wish to visit I recommend you take proof with you and show them your urgency they will understand.

My name is Sandip Mahanta and I have applied for my short validity passport renewal on 16th December.
I am still waiting for my passport along with my wife for more than 3 months and still getting the same reply that it's being processed.
We have lost our passport in rome while travelling and got short validity passport from indian embassy in rome.
Upon returning to UK we have applied for our short validity passport renewal but it's been more than 3 months that we have been waiting for. I really need help as to what to do next to get our passport soon.
Please help us with any information that is relevant.

I have applied for my passport renewal on 7 march 2014.
Worried not to have heard anything back from them yet, I started looking on forums for the average time people need to wait before getting their passport back.

This is when I found out that the pictures I have submitted do not match the new size requirements (despite having checking and double checking this on the HCI london website at the time of submission...i believe they just recently updated their website...). I guess the guy at the counter would have told me if that was wrong?

Please can you tell me if the pictures you submitted in your application matched the new picture size requirements (2inchx2inch) or the old one (4,5cmx3,5cm)?

I have travel plans early may and i wonder I should do?

The 2 x 2 inch are for the visas I believe not passport.

Yes that is what i used to think too...
But now, the picture format is 2inch x 2inch ...

I have sent an email to 2 different email addresses today, to ask them whether it was necessary for me to submit new pictures.
I got 2 different answers (!!! What kind of service are we dealing with ...
One sait "yes, please submit new photographs 2inchx2inch at the counter"; the other one said to wait until the 7th week before making any inquiries...

What would you guys do? Time is flying, O desperatly need to get my passport and visa back asap...

In a similar situation so asking for help.. I have taken an appointment for passport renewal this Friday and I am worried about the delayed booklets and delayed renewals .. has anyone renewed recently who can share the experience..

Few questions..

1) The latest photo size shows 2 X 2 inches , is that what they accept now ? It is too big to be affixed to the form
2) How many total no of photos are required ? 2 or 4 ?
3) What documents are required to be submitted , website says nothing..
4) In my passport ( existing ) my Given name is RAJ KAPOOR and my surname is blank , and therefore every time I apply for Visa I use LNU ( Last name unknown ) , this was due to the printing mistake with my passport .. Now I want to renew the same and get the mistake rectified.. issue is they consider this as name change and want a newspaper ad and all that .. however the truth is it is NOT a name change and only a correction which should be allowed without needing any documents..

Can anyone please suggest how should I fill the form sections..

a) First Name , Last Name , Previous Name

b) Misc service used..
