Which English test/course should my spouse do in Pakistan?

Hi

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find anything when I did a search ,

Anyway my wife needs to do her English Requirement test/course for part of her visa BUT we do not know what is the best one to go for and what is the best one that the UKBA approve of as well? so please can someone advise us?

It just doesn't make any sense to me and neither to her as well as people in Pakistan (Consultants/Solicitors) are saying loads of different things like do this one do that one etc , so I thought I would ask on here and take advice from the forum,

My Wife lives in Lahore so any Recommended places would also be much appreciated

She needs to do A1 English Test
Check out the following link and read up on A1 English Test. They have an office in Lahore. I know of a lady in Lahore who preps people for this test online if you are interested. My wife also passed with her help.

Dont even think about any test other than IELTS.... min 4 score is required in all categories... really easy to score...

Is the IELTS approved by the ukba?

Also do you know how long the it roughly is and if they do it in lahore?

Ofcourse IELTS is approved by UKBA. You can check their list.

You can easily give IELTS through AEO or British council in Pakistan. Their test centers are in major cities.

I suspect, the whole process takes roughly 3 weeks. Tests are twice a month. Check online on AEO pakistan or british council website. cost is Rs.19000. Results comes out in 2 weeks.

I just want to clarify if there has been any changes since my last post regarding the english corses for my wife in Pakistan ?

As she is going to apply and start her corse very very soon,

So is IELTS the best corse to do and will i have any problems with the UKBA regarding this?

Also whats the minimum scores needed on the IELTS to meet the requirement ?

I just want my wife to do the best corse possible to save ourselfs any Idiot spammer when we apply for her visa.

At the moment my wife has not got her passport , Does she need a passport to take the test?

She has a Pakistani ID Nadra card would this work?

Also she is still to update her nadra card to say she is my wife as at the moment her surname is still her Family name and needs to make a passport.

Contact the test centre and ask what's acceptable.
