visa for mother of british child

Please share information.

A 14 years old girl is outside the UK & holds British passport. she went to her home country with her father but her father died in home country.
Now girl wants to come back to UK along her mother (Mother holds NON EU passport with no UK visa & her Nationality requires UK visa)
but we do,nt what visa she should apply for. Her father has free hold house and some other property in UK.

Please advise.

My understanding - and I'm free to be corrected - is that the girl would already have to be in the UK for the mother to be able to use that relationship to obtain a visa.

The mother would, of course, be free to apply on various other routes for a visa (tier 2 etc).
