Passport expired after ILR

I got ILR in June 2013 and now my passport is expired and dont want to extend. My question is that can i apply for British Citizen with expired passport or there is any problem or delay my case. I got ILR on the basis on Tier 1.

It is not a problem. I advise you keep the passport to prove that you meet residency requirements in terms of absences from UK.
I am sometimes wrong.

You may want to add evidence (payslips for your example) to prove your residence since the passport expiry.

Citizenship (adults, children, passport)
EEA (EEA FP, RC, PR, Surinder Singh)
