VAF 1 Form Filling Queries

Post by Jayendhar » Fri Jul 20, 2007 5:57 pm

Hi all,

Just got my HSMP approved and was trying to fill up the VAF1 form.

I am puzzled about these three questions:

5.1 How long do you intend to say?

Should I say permanent or 2 years or 5 years.I Intend to make UK my home.

5.2 On what date do you intend to arrive?

Should we say an early date to accelerate the process and how do we justify the date that we may say.

5.3 Why are you going to the UK?

Should I say
To live and work or to live or to work...I intend to make UK My home.

All simple questions. But there are many answers to these simple questions. That is what is puzzling me.Please help

Hey there,

Anwer to ur first question:

2 yrs -I saw a post on this forum that prescribed this. (Even though I also think if we put down 2 yrs, won't it mean that v do not intend to remain in the UK or in other words intend to make the UK our main home).

On the contrary, since on the basis of inital HSMP, only 2 yrs Visa is granted, so this is the maximum period you could possibly state. Ofcourse, you cant stay for more than 2yrs, if ur FLR Extension gets rejected.

Please senior members, help us out!

Answer to ur second question:

Just put down, 30 days from the receipt of EC.(It seems logical....

Answer to ur third question:

To work (Primarily the HSMP facilitates employment and subsequent permanent residence, but the core purpose is EMPLOYMENT... so its really upto u.... )

However, v require assistance from Senior Members!

Please note, u can xpress ur intention to make the UK ur main home in ur Covering Letter (CL)...(if u wish2 submit1)
