I think most salaried people in this category are getting ilr within a month - that's why they are not bothering to come on to this site. The problem is with self-employed/limited company cases where they are taking so long to decide (that includes me - waiting since February 3).

Don't think that's true.
My wife submitted SET(M) in Dec'13. I am salaried and she was working part-time at that time. And we are still waiting.

HO says they are still processing Oct'13 applications. Perhaps they have just started with Nov'13 applications now.
The general feeling is that there was a huge number of applications (in all categories) submitted in Oct'13 because of the rules changing from 28th October.
Hopefully the Oct'13 backlog is now clear and the processing times will soon improve.

But I know at least one case here - in which the person got ilr in 3 weeks in December on salary income (postal application). I cant find the link here now.

Congrats to those who have received their ILR recently.

Does anyone know the number of SET(M) and SET(O) application submitted in Nov'13 and Dec'13?
I assume the numbers will be much less than for Oct'13.

When we handed our application in via the Settlement checking service, we were advised that applications normally take around three months, but posts on here seem to contradict this. Could this delay be because there was a higher number of applications in October to beat the deadline and then a delay for Christmas and New Year holiday. Does this then mean that we might see an increase in speed in processing applications?

Also can I just check about Biometrics... Once they are done you don't have to post anything do you? The post office do that and just give you back the letter from the HO as a receipt?

Our timeline so far is:

SET M:
Dependents: 0
Supporting Spouse: Salaried
Application handed in via settlement checking service: 05/03/14
Biometrics letter received: 26/03/14
Biomertics submitted: 28/03/14
SET M Via settlement Checking Service -05/03/14
Confirmation letter dated 10/03/14
Biometrics letter arrived- 26/03/14
Biometrics done- 28/03/14
IRL Granted after reconsideration (HO admin error) 18/12/14

Hi All,

Firstly congrats to those you got their ILR and apologies if I posted under wrong topic.

I have couple of questions with regards to my ILR application due in July 2014 on basis of 5 years on Tier-1 General visa.

1. Do I need to submit documents to prove how did I get my initial Tier-1 General visa (i.e. 5 years ago). I was reading the form SET(O) and in sections 11L (documents required) it also say as follows "For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 1 (General) migrant, documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules." This is a bit surprise for me and I have not read anything about this in this forum. The problem is that I showed self employment (for £1500) to meet requirements for my initial Tier-1 visa in 2009 and didn't pay the tax for the same, hence not in my P60. But since then I have been fine and I got me extention on the basis of my salary in 2011. Any help or advice on this?

2. My wife is coming to UK on dependent visa in few weeks time and I was wondering how would I apply her visa when I apply for my ILR as she is not eligible as yet? Do I need to apply hers separately as dependent once I get my ILR or is there a way around this where we can apply together for different categories? Also what would happen if I dont receive my ILR before her current leave expires (i.e. Nov 2014)? please also let me know what form should I use for my wife and will she get her dependant visa for 5 years?

Thanks for your reply in Advance.

Regards,

I came across this forum after asking Google the estimated processing time for ILR, I so hope it won't take all the 6 months!

Application type: SET (O) postal (from Tier-1 General)
Number of dependents: 2 (wife and daughter)
Application posted: 16/01/2014
Application received/acknowledge/payment taken: (dunno, it was through solicitor)
Biometrics letter received: 31/01/2014 (dated 28/01/2014)
Biometrics enrollment (applicant and dependents): 06/02/2014
Approval Letter Received: no, waiting
Documents received: no, waiting
BRP card received: no, waiting

But looking at the waiting time from other posts, I shall have another 2 months of waiting ahead...
Cheers.

Hi,
Can senior members advise please. I applied for tier 1 general in Sept. 2009 and was refused due to bank statements not complete as at the time of the application. However I have to go through tribunal and was successful, I got a letter in Dec 2009 notifying me that my appeal has been approved and got later got my visa issued for tier1 in Feb 2010. My question now is when does my 5years qualifying period starts, was it when my appeal was approved or when my visa was issued?

Hello Everyone,
I find this website very useful and this is my first post here.

I have applied for SET(M) via post on 09/01/14, Biometrics given on 03/02/14 and still waiting for the response from homeoffice.
My husband needs to go to USA in first week of May.
My query is: can he travel while I am waiting for my SET(M) from HO?
I havn't used the settlement checking service.

Thank you for your responses.

Hi,

As I understand, there are no travel restrictions on your husband.
But, have you not submitted his passport with your postal application?
