Cohabitation Documents ILR Set(O)

Post by kashifmasud » Tue Apr 08, 2014 3:20 pm

Hi
Just realised few days ago that I have to provide Cohabitation Document for my Wife when applying for ILR through Set(O) Form. I have read many topics/thread on board where people explaining that 6 documents required over 2 year period from 3 sources. But I am in a difficult situation as I can't produce all documents.
I wish to apply on 20th May, so going back 2 years May 2012 - 2014 these the document I could find

1. 2 x Council Tax letter with Joint Name for 2012, 2013 (got for 2014)
2. NHS Letters/ regarding birth of child in May 2012 (could use birth certificate ? )
3. NHS Letter Sep-12 for Wife
3. Provisional License & Counterpart (but no date)
4. Passing Theory Test DVLA Jul-2013
5. Biometric Card/Letter sent last year Aug-13 (as I had my Tier1 Extension in Aug-13)
6. Electricity Bill for April-14 (as just got her name added)

As I have house through Mortgage, so no tenancy agreement or Utility Bills or Bank statement or Phone Bill. Nothing I can find that is on her name. I have lost Electoral Registration Letter (but does any one know if it is possible to get copy of it ??? ). Similarly National Insurance letter is more than 2 years old.

Do you have a TV license? You can perhaps change the direct debit information, and they will send you a confirmation letter.
And surely you must have bank account, and you can order bank statements?
Take any letters from Tesco, Boots, etc etc if you have any. I heard that they help too.

Thanks pichon. But that all is in my name unfortunately not in my wife name. I think I can produce letters for myself no problem but just worried what else to provide in my wife's name,

Then you only need to supply proof since August 2013.

Hi,

First of all how long have you been in this country.
If she is in UK on a visa as your dependent, then I am sure that you wont need that many documents to prove cohabitation.
How are you going to prove that your wife has been your dependent for 2 years.
From UKVI website
https://www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk/y/y ... -1-general
Eligibility for partners

Your partner may qualify if all of the following apply:

they have permission to be in the UK as your partner
they’ve been living in the UK with you for at least 2 years if they applied before 9 July 2012 or 5 years if they applied on or after 9 July 2012
your relationship is genuine
you intend to carry on living together
you’re not using public funds
