Visa still valid?

Hi there,
My cousin was studying at uni. On second year of her study her mom back home had health problems and this affected my cousin's study badly. She couldnt concentrate on her studies and eventually she failed on second year of her study. Then she went back home to look after her mom. This happened last year. Now she wants to come back to UK. The student visa was issued for her for three years till the end of november 2014. Is that visa still valid? Can she come to UK with that visa and apply for a student visa or any type of visa from here?
Any advice would be appreciated!
