ILR from Tier 1 General Profession Matters ?

Post by Khanoflondon » Tue Apr 01, 2014 2:07 am

Hi friends, Senior memebers, Gurus and all
I will be applying for ILR in next year aftre completing my 5 years in Tier 1 General. Please help me in following questions.
1- Can I work as a taxi driver? as previous earning threshold is 55K in my case and I can hardly get half from my job.
2- Dose it matters what profession we are in or not for getting ILR on Tier 1 General route?
3- Any one on this forum has used taxi earning for claiming Points as a Tier 1 applicant? (Although I have been to some previous posts but those are old enough. so i want to know present circumstances)

If I have missed any required information plz ask I will provide.
Thanks for your time and help

YES

NO
Only employment restriction is of as Doctor or Dentist in Training (unless certain conditions met as per policy), OR professional sportsperson (including as a sports coach)

thing that you need to remember according Policy Guidelines, you need 2 different sources to confirm earnings, one of which is Bank statement in most of cases.

do we need to prove any points for ILR ?

I thought once you complete 5 years as tier 1 g, you do not need to prove points any more as ILR is not a PBS.. ?

What we need to prove for ILR ?

As per Recent changes YES :( check with SET(O) form & Policy Guidelines. I am not sure, but i think only respite is not having to show Maintenance fund.

I am not sure about English thing yet, because link you just gave me gives confusing info. Try asking this in ILR section of same forum here http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefi ... -to-remain
As per my friend's experience who just got his ILR and based on Tier-1 extension rules, we need not prove as we already proved at time of entry clearance.
your wife or any dependent do need to prove English, while main applicant just need to be bothered about Life in UK test.
Anyway just check with UK NARIC or Home Office database if it recognizes your degree for English langauge and i think that's more than enough, and only hassle would be to send degree as additional document.

just reiterating same thing if you have missed, kindly join FB group whose link is included in my signature.

Both needs to prove English test and LIfe in UK test.

English can be proved by a recognised Degree taught in English in India or UK.
Both needs to sit and pass LIfe in UK test.
