You need at least 75 points from various qualifying sections. The full criteria for qualifying are listed at the following URL, which will answer your question.eva22 wrote:If I graduated from a British university in 2000, can I apply for the HSMP?
I'm not sure where you saw that, but it's incorrect. The date of your degree is irrelevant unless you intend to apply for HSMP under the MBA provision (in which case you must have earned your MBA from a school on the HO's list and you must have graduated since 12/04).eva22 wrote:Thanks Amy. I do make 80+ points. But I read somewhere in fine print (on the program's official website) that your UK degree must have been earned 3 (or 4 maybe) years before applying for the HSMP. I wanted to know a) how important this is - will I definitely be rejected just because I graduated 7 years ago, and b) why this criterion is in place. Does anyone know?
That is related to claiming 5 points for UK experience, not to the qualifications section.eva22 wrote:Check out this link:

Look at page 32, points 71 and 74. It states that if your degree was not obtained within the past 5 years, you lose the 5 points you would have otherwise received for a UK degree.
