I live in UK and I will be taking my parents (indian national) for holidays in Europe when they visit me in the summer. We intend to make 3 trips from the UK and accordingly requested multiple entry visa from Italian consulate in India.
My parents have received multiple entry visas, starting from the date of entry of the first trip, but the validity of the visas expire before the 3rd trip. This has left us in a quite tricky situation. we submitted all required documents and were hoping to receive the visas with correct validity. The planned trip is total stay of 16 days within a 60 day period from the first entry - this is well within the the permissble limit of the the short stay tourist visa.
I was wondering if there is any process to request reconsidertaion of the application / extension of the visas?
if the above is not possible, is there any merit of making a new application (considering there is already a valid visa covering a part of the trip).
please can anyone advise?
