Sorry, forgot to add:

When selecting your visa type, choose "permit free employment" and then in the drop down menu after that (type of visit), you should see HSMP as an option.

When I did mine, I started out with work permit as my visa type and realized several screens later (when the system was quite insistent that I give details of a job I am not required to have yet!) that I had chosen the wrong form...had to start over, big pain :D

I want know more about Online EC

How are the supporting Documents sent?

Did you send a hardcopy of the EC form along with documents to local BHC or consulate?

Is payment also made online? Is the processing done faster online?

When I applied for visiting visa I fiiled online form and took print out and personally submitted to embassy with all documents.
you can take appointment online in the below web address

payment is dependent upon your country you can check it in
http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/
Processing time is same.

Hi Raiees,
Are you showing anything regarding job oppertunity in UK for your skill set.I concur with document you mention. People from other countries are including lot more docs (like tax return for last 3 years, birth cert, interview call letter from UK employer etc). I not sure if that is required. Whats you take ?

Cheers

Hi Pahadia,
Sorry for my late reply.
yes here we need to submit less documents.
I have got my EC (post dated from sep 07, i requested it) today, it took only 1 day to get approved.
I sumbitted those docs only and for job in UK, in cover letter I wrote, I have explored the job oppurtunity and have bright chances to getjob. thats it
and I submitted my fiancee invitation letter for accomodation.
Cheers

Hi Raiees,
I got my EC cleared last week. I applied on 15th August and on 17th I got approved confirmation email. Yesterday I received my passport back. Thanks for your good wishes. Now one BIG hardle is over time to think about other stuff. I saw your other query regarding police registration/NIC number etc. Could you update me what is required once you enter the UK.

Cheers
Pahadia
