Indian Passport renewal in Edinburgh

Hi all,

I'm planning to get my passport renewal done in Edinburgh. I have couple of questions here and would need guidance from anyone who has done this before in Edinburgh.

1) Is there a long queue similar to London or can I reach the consulate at the opening time.
2) I would like to retain my previous permanent Indian address. In the online application form 3(b):"other address", do I need to give my current UK address and some address proof or can I put in my Indian address here.
3) I also would like to add my spouse name, do I need to carry her original passport along with a self-attested photocopy.
4) The approximate processing time.
