Help Needed in Tier 2 Dependent Visa

Dear friends,

I am currently in UK on Tier 2 General visa for last 2 years. Now, my wife needs to apply for the Dependent visa in the same category. But due to the ever changing rules, and even websites, I have got really confused about the process. Please help.

My questions are:

1. What is the process of applying the visa?
In my understanding, my wife needs to fill in the application form online and then apply for the appointment with VFS global, along with all the documents. Is it correct?

2. What are the documents which required to support the application?
In my understanding they are -
a) Wife's Passport (address on it is her family address, before marriage)
b) Wife's Photo ID
c) Marriage certificate
d) My bank statements in UK for maintenance fund (sufficient funds)
e) My 3 months salary slips (for salary threshold check)
f) My COS number
e) My address proof in UK
Is there something else which I am missing?

3. Do I need to take help of an agent in India or is it not required if we are abreast with process?

i am confused as well, i am bringing my wife here, but while filling in the online application form, it asks for visa type, which visa type should i exactly choose?

Work -> Tier 2 (General) -> Partner ?

or

Settlement -> Settlement -> Family Reunion? wife?

Another question, anything else should i fill in?
