Indian passport validity for British Citizenship n Passport

Hi

I am applying British Citizenship for my child. His Indian passport is getting expired in June 1st 2014.

Question I have is , Can I apply British Citizenship whose Indian passport is getting expired soon. Will there by any difficulty while applying for British passport ?

Or do I need to first extend Indian passport and apply British Citizenship again?

Any information regarding this is appreciated.

as long as it is valid at time of mn1 application it is fine

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean, on the day of the application submission if the passport is valid is it fine or if the MN1 procession time takes 6 weeks then my kid passport will expire by that time. Is it alright to proceed to submit next week?

Yes it is fine and MN1 is a little bit quicker than that if there are no queries on the application.
