ILR SET O Form Section 6.3 (Absence Evidence)

Post by Ali_Raza_2244 » Thu Apr 10, 2014 12:53 am

Hi Friends,

I have a small query with regards to Section 6 Immigration History , specifically 6.3 (Absence evidence). Apologies if this has been discussed before as I could not find any links from Home Office website.

I am working as a contractor through my own limited company. I have been out of UK 2 times since my Tier 1 Visa. 2010 (10 days Marriage) and 2011 (20 days Family Visit).
Total 30 days, could you please advise which option should I select in Section 6.3 to support the reasons for all absences from the UK and provide which evidence?

I cannot get letters from my previous agencies for my annual leaves.

Thanks
Ali

Hi Ali,

Welcome to the forum!

Tick on "Other."

If you wish you can use the template below:

--------

Dear Sir/Madam,

Application for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK under Tier 1 (G)

In reference to section 6.3, this is to clarify that I am self employed and work as a contractor in my own limited company. In this regard I have been absent from the United Kingdom on annual leave during the following period:

From To Total Days
XXXX XXXX XXXX

Should you require any further clarification, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,

XXXXX
Ali Reza

It may also be helpful to attach copies of your ticket/e-ticket to this letter.

Thanks mate for your reply, Just saw this next to the Option Others :

If you have ticked ‘Other’ please briefly specify below what evidence you have provided. Please
note only evidence of compelling or compassionate reasons must be listed in this box.

The reason for my absence were not compelling or compassionate, should I still select Others and in the Box and mention to refer to my cover letter > or that's not related to my absence mentioned above ?

Thanks

Good point Ali. Maybe wiser to tick the first option - Letter(s) from employer(s) detailing reasons for work-related absences including
periods of paid annual leave from the UK?

As you are your own employer, you are submitting a letter. Unlike the next point, this is not for compassionate or compelling reasons.

Thanks mate,

I will draft a letter for my 2x absence but still not sure where to tick on Section 6.3.

One thing which I noticed was in 2010 absence, I was working for an umbrella company and I am sure they will not entertain me if I go back to them asking for a letter of absence. The second absence in 2011 I was working as director of my limited company.

So bit confusion

Any seniors if you can advise and help please amber ?

Regards
Ali

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Ali,
I'm in a same position, I had provided them a letter from my current employer but they are asking letter from my previous employer as well but I was self-employed at that time.

Could you please advise what kind of a letter you produced for the period when you were self-employed, any sample/template will help?

Thanks,
Safeer

I was under the impression that we dont have to provide any letter if leave is < 180 days in any year.
What all you submitted so far? And what options did u tick initially in the form for section 6.3?
